Does drinking lots of water help you lose weight

Does drinking lots of water help you lose weight?

The short answer is No.

Drinking lot of water will help you in many ways other that weight loss… You’ll feel more energetic because of that your liver and kidney’s condition will improve. Drinking pure water also help you tackle lots of problem related to stomach (digestion etc).

Lots of water evangelists might not agree with my statements about weight loss. They’ll state things like body is made up of 80% of water etc etc…

Though I do believe we are “De-hydrated species”. we do not drink enough water. We get lots of bodily diseases because our abdominal region (stomach, livers, kidneys) are not working properly.

In fact In India, Ayurvedic medicine they say “70–80% of diseases starts from stomach”.

NOTE: When I am talking about water, I am talking about pure water. That means no colas, no coffee, no fruit juice. It’s WATER.

You’ll find people often includes, colas, coffees and other liquid in water category, when they are not. They’ll help you feel hydrated but nothing can replace water.

So in general “Drinking water is GOOD”. You’ll improve your overall health. No Doubt. But to say losing weight… it’s just too much stretching it.

The typical recommendation of 8 glasses of water per day is decent. You should not wait drinking water till you start feeling thirsty or your throat feels dry.

I often keep 500 ml bottle of water with me and drink  very frequently, rather than setting a frequency (1 glass per hour).

Drink more water for better health.
