Boxing workout program - Build Your body with boxing

Today I am going to give you a program to whip you in top notch shape for boxing. Why boxing? well cause I love practicing martial arts and boxing. Moreover, normal folks can get into top notch shape if they try any of martial arts workouts.

Most of boxing workouts requires you to be in excellent aerobic/anaerobic shape so that you can go into later rounds and still spar. Boxing is said to be anaerobic system as it requires high tension in body without oxygen.

A good boxing workout program should have

Sport specific training (2-3 minute workout by 1 min rest)

Mimic your competition

Mimic your intensity of rounds (and then some more). You gas out faster when there are punchings flying over to your face and guts.

All of this will help you go through last rounds of your bout. For example, here’s how you can train yourself for mimicking the intensity of your rounds.

3 Min rounds for (if your even has 3 minute rounds)

2 minute heavy bag training

1 minute burpees special

1 minute rest

3 min rounds

2 minute skill training (ducking, bob-weaving/any specific technique)

1 minute of burpees

1 minute rest

Though I am not discussing other aspects of boxing fitness like strength training, speed training or even ability training. Remember in a boxing workout programs you should be doing as much as sports specific training you can handle.

For strength training you can use

Sandbag strength training

Kettlebell strength training
