How to lose weight with EFT?
I wonder if you or someone you know have been in this position?
Diets, workouts started with lots of gusto and you might have been losing weight too. Dropping inches off waist like they never were there. Then suddenly everything goes south. You suddenly lose all the excitement, all the energy to even follow through.
This is self sabotaging at work. It comes up more often than people are led to believe. I remember one of my clients dropping 20 pounds in 30-35 days with great work ethic and strict diet. Suddenly he started skipping workouts sessions with me. This was the first time It ever happened to me, so I missed the obvious signs.
Since then, after the experience I devised many strategies to work around this issue. One of the things I realized about this situation is that because of some underlying emotional issues. To some people it’s about worthiness, to some people it’s about anger, to some people its about love or may be heart break.
Typical motivation spiels doesn’t work in this scenario. You can shout at the top of the lungs or show 100 examples. It’ll not work, unless you get a mind shift experience. One of my expertise that people don’t know is Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP). I’ve been learning and practicing it since I was 15.
I used stories, metaphors and other strategies to shift the mindset of my clients. You don’t treat them like patients or psychologist in this case. Nope, that’s wrong attitude. I took the attitude of sharing my own experience.
So if you are a trainer who understand NLP, then you can take a leaf from my book and incorporate few of “your experience” and start shifting mindset towards greater good for your clients. Remember People anchor feelings/emotions to different stories in their life. You have to work on the attachment of these emotions to get mind-shift. We are removing the ‘attachment to emotions’ not the emotions itself.
If you don’t know NLP, don’t worry about it. There’s another technology that you can use and it’s called EFT (emotional freedom techniques). Again the underlying principle is same “get rid of attachment to emotions”. EFT is easy to use and doesn’t require any degree or certificate. The best thing is NLP takes practice and expertise, EFT doesn’t and Anyone can learn and do it for themselves.
