Most neglected muscles in a Gymrat’s workouts.

Today I am going to discuss about the muscles our typical gym goers neglect. If you ever have stepped into gyms, then you can easily point out few gym rats with uneven physical development. They are the kind of people who do chest on 7 days a week.

If you notice closely, your typical gymrats do 3-4 day splits where they focus tons on chest or biceps. Even if they are focusing on other parts they do it half heartedly. No wonder they are not gaining muscles.

I remember few years ago in gym I noticed someone is early forties working out his biceps like mad… I was impressed with the intensity of that workout… next time when I saw that person again, it was his shoulder day (in 4 day split).

Now I was expecting some real high intensity workout on shoulders but instead I found this person whining all the time while working on shoulders. It was same for abs and legs for him… constant whining and bitching…

Later I heard his talk about his workout… one of his comment surprised me… I am paraphrasing his words “Arghh man, You can only show off your biceps, nobody can tell how good your shoulders or abs or legs are…. You can’t show them off unless you are naked.” I guess that’s why he was bitching and moaning about those workouts…

Interesting view point isn’t it?

Anyways I am not in my typical rant mode so I keep off the ranting today… Here are the most neglected body parts.

Shoulders

Triceps

Forearms, wrist.

Abs

Lower back

Legs.

When I am working out, I am thinking of functional fitness. To strengthen my body as a whole unit. To become stronger without a weak link… Like they said. The strongest chain is as strong as its weakest link.

This is why I stress lots of odd workout methods like Sandbag training, heavy log or object training. Moreover all of them makes workouts more interesting…

So Stop neglecting your body parts and become stronger as a whole…
