Fat loss supplements Myth – How to boost fat loss

We are in mid of sept right now, in next 30–45 days, people will start getting ready for upcoming marriage season (for their own or their relatives/friends). Frankly it doesn’t surprise me, if I am getting too many calls on same line “Varun, You know is there anyway I can lose 15–20 pounds in next 30–45 days”.

Frankly speaking the number I am giving is bit exaggerated. People tend to call more often when the date is already on their head. People don’t have time to waste as they are preparing for the season and they need to burn THAT FAT NOW.

One of the common response is to reach out for “Diet pills” from your nearest chemist and try them. Which I often found are not good response. So I decided to write a simple Fat loss supplements article. Most fat loss supplements are based on 2 components.

1. Hunger suppression – Most supplements works on hunger suppression. It looks like common sense, because you gained diet because of your appetite and if you suppress it, you’ll lose it. Market is full of them. Almost all of them are based on this.

2. Metabolic boosters – Supplements that increase metabolism. I bet you know, if you boost your metabolism, you’ll burn extra calories and fat in resting mode? Now this thing works on boosting your metabolism so that you are burning fat even when you are sleeping… How ideal??? right…

WRONG!

I am yet to find good metabolic booster other than exercise and improving diet. Anything else is just farce. And The less said about hunger suppression, the better. Of course you can suppress hunger and appetite, but what about the side-effects/results of this. Slow metabolism. When you are not eating, you are putting your body in “hunger state”, where your body starts conserving energy in any form. Thus slowing down your metabolism.

So what to do? what to do?

Simple. Creating by Calorie deficit, You’ll lose fat. PERIOD. And how do you do that?

Follow a good nutrition plan and exercise. I know, I can hear quite number of people whining “But I don’t have time”.

Sheesh, people, chose any of my 10 minute workouts. As far as diet plan is concerned, Exclude all the junk food. Cut down on your carbs, add protein in every feeding opportunity. And eat small meals, every 2–3 hrs.

The only thing that can help you as a supplements is Fish oil caps. Don’t treat them as fat loss supplements as they are not.

If you are arms twitch at the smell of food or just to reach out for junk food because you just want to, then you have underlying issues. No amount of appetite suppression or booster pills will work here. I personally recommend EFT for this.

  1. Do not consume carbs when you don’t need them! The best times to give yourself larger portions of carbs is when you first wake up and before and after workouts, as you can be sure it will be put to use and be burned off, not stored as fat.
