My uncensored opinion of cardio

Today I am going to answer few questions that came my way by some of my readers.

“Varun, I noticed, you workouts doesn’t have cardio in it. Why? I know by reading your articles that you hate cardio but don’t you think it actually have some place in the routines?” – Regards Matt

A. Matt, You are mistaken when you say that my workouts does not have cardio in it. In fact all of my workouts works on your cardiovascular system. What my workout doesn’t have is “Long Slow, Boring, mind numbing Cardio”. Now that’s what I hate with passion.

The moment you do any of my workout, in under 1 minute, you are huffing, puffing with your tounge out like a dog. Your heart is going like 200 m per min. The whole body feels like on fire. Now this is what your cardio vascular system needs.

The myth of boring cardio that MOST gym instructors tells you about 45–1 hr long treadmill run or jog is the most useless workout known to mankind. It’s horror that should be only used to torture prisoners or traitors. It does not work on cardio system, it does not work on losing weight, it does not build your muscle. In short it’s the most useless thing.

So now tell me why I’d do this kind of workout when I have 100 times better option? Huh…
