When Food tempts you even in your dreams…
I just woke up with one heck of dream tonight.
It was really tempting… all kind of my favorite food were there. In India there is something called “chappan bhog” literally translating to “56 food”. If you never seen something like this , trust me you are not losing anything. Now everything oily, deep fried, spicy is there.
(I couldn’t find 56 bhog on internet but this is traditional North indian thali. Its mighty tempting)
Damn Indians.
I wondered why in the world I dreamt of that… may be because I am controlling my diet to lose all that winter flubber. Now I know I am not the kind who is naturally skinny.
In my Dream I gave to the tempation and started binge eating… with every bite I took, I felt more guilty and I kept getting depressed. Thank god I got up from the nightmare…
Dieters Nightmare: The Downward spiral
While sitting on the bed, I realized how many times earlier when I tried to lose weight, I gave to tempations. The result : I never lost Fat.
Only when I was give up all the attachment, I started losing weight. This nightmare reminded me of that downward spiral every dieter goes through…
You give in to temptations and then get depressed and eat more food. And its downhill from there.
No wonder, you hear people saying things like “diets don’t work” etc.
Instead if you cheated on your diet, your first step is to get back on to diet fast. No more getting depressed, No more feeling guilty. What happened, happened in the past. You can’t change the past.
Isn’t it funny most people spend more time in either past(feeling guitly) or in future (wishing for miracle). But if they just spend more time in Present, they might get results that they want…
Well thanks to my dream, I am writing this article…
What to do When You cheat on your diet
Step 1 : Stop feeling guilty. You cant change the past. You better get over it.
Step 2 : Do not quit on your diet. If you quit here now, you’ll be fat forever.
Step 3 : Follow your diet plan as you never cheated.
Step 4: Stop thinking about Past.. it’s worth saying twice.
