How to motivate yourself to get the body you desire?

You started a diet or a workout routine with much enthusiasm but by the end of the week, you are back to your typical routine and getting fatter. How many times it happened to you?

My guess is “way too many times”. Why can I guess like that? because I’ve been there once. I always thought it was the diet’s problem or my workout’s problem… but the truth wasn’t very sweet.

Until I changed the way I was thinking, I didn’t get good results with fat loss.

It was harsh. It made me crazy. But the truth was, I decided to change. I picked a routine & Diet plan I developed from my research. And then it happened. I got the results I wanted (losing 45 lbs in 3 months).

That’s why this blog post is not about workout or diet plan.

How to motivate yourself to get the body you desire?

I’ve tried many things to motivate myself. Things like “putting a fat picture of myself on a mirror” so that I see myself and act on it. Or putting a ‘specific goal’ in front of me all the time. It didn’t work.

In the end when you are hurting from your last workout or you feel like ‘eating something’. These tricks doesn’t help.

When it comes to motivating yourself, you have to remember. Motivation is pretty much like a muscle. The more you motivate yourself, the better you conviction will be. And better chances of your getting the goal.

Start small. Make a daily commitment to do something that’ll help you move toward the goal.

Heck I started with things like “Today I’ll just do warm up, my legs are hurting already”. After the warm up It changed into “Ok I’ll do few squats to get the blood pumping” and then it changed into “Lets try few push ups and see I can improve on yesterdays score”.

By the time I noticed, I ended up finishing the workout with better score than previous day. Now I know my body will be sore and hurt next day but I’ll have to persist if I want results… may be I’ll just do a simple warm up tomorrow. :D

I am just trying to motivate myself for a little more. I don’t know how more it’ll be… but just a little… and then just a little.
