15 Simple & Easy Ways To Lose 35 Pounds

“Varun, I want to lose 30 pounds in 30 days. Is there any diet or supplement that can help me?”

It used to surprise me when people asked me this question. In fact whenever I talked to them, I found out they know that losing 30 pounds in 30 days is extreme case. Well first I use to try explain them and educate them.

I used to tell them it’s better to aim to lose 10 pounds in 4 weeks than 30 lbs. But unfortunately, most people are so desperate that they rarely listened to me.

They’d come back to me, when they have tried every diet or supplement in the market and understands from horrible experience that there is no easy way out.

Well, its not easy, infact consultants and nutritionist’s have made this way too complicated. I am trying to get rid of all this complication from the system and help you lose 30 lbs.

1. Workout :  Workout daily, no matter what. If for some reason you are tired then go out for 45 minute fast walk. Listen anyone who is telling you or trying to sell you a super special diet or supplement to lose weight is lying out of his ###… Got it?

2. No Dieting Only Nutrition : Of course you have to improve your diet. Workout combined with good diet will help you boost your metabolism and help you lose weight even when you are not working out. Here’s a good tip: Start eating good food 6-8 times a day(you know what they are).

Frankly speaking almost every one who have fat is eating less of a good food. Calories matter, but not so much. If you are eating good food, you’ll drop weight like its not body’s business..

3. Never Skip Breakfast : Too many people skip breakfast.  Eat in the morning when the body burns more calories. It still surprises me, how so many people can’t even find to have a good breakfast . If you are one of those, then get up 30 minutes early to make sure you have your breakfast.

4. Don’t skip meals.  When you do, you eat more at your next meal and usually eat the wrong foods.

5. Use Sledge Hammer On Your TV: Don’t eat while watching television.  You can become so engrossed in your program that don’t realize how much you are eating. In fact one of my mentor says this about TV “The bigger your TV is, the smaller your income and the fatter your gut will be”

Interesting quote, isn’t it? Is it hard to do? Nope, not at all. I haven’t watched TV in last 4 years.

6. Avoid shopping when you are hungry – eat first! : Now this may come as a surprise, but if you are going out for shopping or may be a trip, Eat something. This way you won’t get cravings when you are out shopping and won’t just happen to step into fast food joints.

7. Shop for groceries once a week and only buy from your prepared list. Always plan before you go out to shop. One of Nutrition Expert Dr John Berardi always says this (of course I am paraphrasing), “Shop ahead Once a week, so you don’t have a choice to opt for wrong foods“.

8. Always shop for Fruits and Vegs in Grocery Store: Head directly to the fruit and vegetable aisles when you enter the grocery store.  Fill up your basket in these aisles and you’ll be less likely to buy binge food.

Make sure you buy enough fruits and veggies to last one whole week.

9. Menu for a whole week: Vary your foods – introduce something new each week.  Menu planning can become boring when you eat the same things.  That boredom translates into over eating.  Try new healthy recipes each week.

Again Dr John Berardi talks a lot on this. If you plan ahead what you are going to eat and prepare for it, your chances of straying from your nutrition plan is less.

10. Say No To Processed Food : Stay away from processed foods as much as possible.  Yes, they are very convenient.  They are also loaded with fat and/or sugar, not to mention the chemicals.

11. Say Yes To Green Tea:  Do I even have to talk about this? Drink 2-3 cups a day. It helps your metabolism.

12. Fresh Fresh Fresh : Drill this down in your head. Use fresh or frozen fruits and vegetables.  Canned veggies are okay in a pinch, but generally include more salt than you need.  By the time they are canned and processed, they have lost much of their nutritive value.

13. Eliminate fried foods.  Do we need to say why?

14. Eliminate Sugar from your diet :  This is going to be bit tough. Eliminate all the sugar from your diet. If you want, then try honey from your local bee farmer.

15. When you Eat out? If you plan on eating out at a buffet, eat something before you go.  Don’t skip a meal and plan on chowing down at the buffet.

If you just make all these changes to your lifestyle, you’ll drop weight and really fast. trust me on this…
